Lake Mburo National Park is a superb angelic destination, a most sought of quick destination gateway for an African safari experience, the Savannah Park is managed by the Uganda wildlife authority, and it is the closet of conservation areas to the country’s capital tucked along enroute along the Masaka Mbarara highway. The park is one of the smallest national parks in Uganda and among the savannah parks it is by far the most small with a unique composition, 30 % of the national park is comprised of water bodies, Lakes and rivers, The compact gym is underlined by Precambrian rocks sating back to more than 500 million years ago. Together with 5 lakes, Lake Mburo makes a 50 kilometer wetland linked together by a swamp.

Park activities include the guided game drives through the well distributed game tracks in the national park, these begin in the morning in search of morning risers, and during the game drive you will be able spot antelopes, like the oribi, waterbucks, klipspringer, the afternoon drives will lead you to enjoy sundowners. Night game drives are done in search of nocturnal species more so the cat family. Horseback riding is an excellent way of viewing wildlife in the national, the animals tend to get comfortable with the presence of other species kinds, this is an initiative of the Mihingo Lodge and can be done by anyone even beginners in the riding, and the lodge is a family owned luxurious facility within the national park. Game drives are conducted with the lead of the Uganda wildlife ranger and are carried out in 4×4 wheel car drive.
There is a daily boat cruise conducted along Lake Mburo, this the lake after which the park gets its name, the launch trip departs every 2 hours and takes 2-3 hours while enjoying the scenic views of the surrounding environment, along the marshy swampy areas expect to see several bird species like African fish eagle, African fin foot, to mention few, expect more of hippos along the Lake.
Cycling safaris in the park are customized safaris in the national park, your tour operator can hire you bicycles or get some from a hiring company, riding through the park is adventurous, and this is a safer place to do the activity as there are no big mammals like elephants. Community visits will enable you to engage into the culture of the people of western Uganda, the Ankole farm experiences are unique, travelers will be allowed to involve in milking cattle, dance, process of making ghee, and their traditional dish termed as “Eshabwe”.
