There are 10 major Eco-sites in Uganda including all the ten protected areas of the country like the great Murchison falls national park, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Lake Mburo, Queen Elizabeth, Mountain Elgon, Mgahinga, Semliki, and Kibale Forest National Park, they are homes to unique endemic species of the of Uganda, the game sanctuaries like Pianupe, Matheniko, Bokora, Karuma, Ziwa rhino sanctuary are places of ecological importance to the biodiverse environment in Uganda, eco-tourism related activities include the guided nature walks, game drives, boat cruises, mountain gorilla trekking, primate walk, chimpanzee tracking, community walk, cultural tourism, sightseeing, white water rafting, hiking to mention a few.
When considering to do a Ugandan trip to the eco-tourism sites, the following should be put in mind when packing, carry back all non-degradable litters like polyethene, plastic bottles, try to avoid burring these on the ground as the environmental impact is big, avoid making a lot of noise and loud speaker music while in conservation areas and sanctuaries, avoid using pollutants when swimming in rivers and streams, respect traditional locals more so in circumstances where you need to take a photograph, kindly ask for permission before taking a picture.
Uganda is a tropical country straddling along the equator a line that separates the world in to two halves’, the climatic conditions are best for travel any time. It receives two seasons the wet season and the dry season when coming pack according to the condition and month of travel, December -February, and June-September are dry seasons while March – April and October – November are rainy seasons. It should be noted that the weather conditions of Uganda are totally un predictable it can rain anytime even during the most dry months of the year.
